I worked with the 18 year old Lenny in The Labs during 1992. I loved his voice and wrote two songs for him: Let Me Sleep and When Can I Expect to be Happy. We also did a 4/4 time version of The Beatles' She's Leaving home. The two original songs were presented to Rick Astley's manager, that year, for Mr Astley to sing. Although the manager thought they were the best tracks he'd been presented with, his protege had decided to start writing his own stuff -and that was that. So there you go.
