The Ever Growing Wall and Ancient Bread Oven
We decided to continue with the wood store wall and restore what remained of the old bread oven, partly because it was a job that needed doing, and we were in that zone, but also because it was starting to look a bit dangerous. Traditonal walls are made of stone and hard packed clay, which is a really strong combination until the clay gets wet and then it's like a landslide. Because we'd demolished the covering and some of the wall of the bread oven, we'd exposed the clay to the elements and so after two and half years, it seemed like a good idea to sort it out. Anyway the first piccies are from the initial demolition of the bread oven. |
